Its that time of year again and once again Café Create and Irvine Sports Club are hosting a Macmillan coffee morning. It will be held on Thursday 26th September from 11am-2pm, there will be lots of yummy cakes to have with your coffee so do join us to raise money for this great charity.
We have a new block of classes starting on October 1st for 4 weeks, this class takes you from how to operate a sewing machine to sewing a basic bag including a zip. The class will be from 12.30-3.30 each Tuesday, places are available now for an early bird price of £30 for the block, all materials will be provided.
So if you always wanted to learn to sew or need a new hobby for winter coming, call or email to reserve a spot, email@example.com 07592767480
As always there will be tea and cake available too
When I lived in France, I absolutely adored seeing pretty boxes of pastel coloured macarons, now I can’t just nip round the corner to buy some I decided it was time to try making them. Especially as my lovely sil posted a pretty photo of some she bought in NY city, next time I am definitely doing some wilder colours.
So today in the café we have pretty pink macarons with bramble jelly filling (home-made of course).
They been thoroughly tested already 😉
Its wet and wild outside, definitely time to think about winter woollies, this weekend I knitted a cowl and hat as someone had none, tragedy to live in a knitters house and have no woolly hat 🙂
I used some gorgeous aran from both Old Maiden Aunt and Babylonglegs, they match perfectly.
So macarons, some knitting, a little cutting and sewing in the café today, see you at 12.30
First of all no cafe tomorrow as they are getting a ladies toilet refit.
Next up I am taking part in the Fall for Cotton sew-along, some info on it here.
I am sewing a skirt in some cord, photos coming up soon.
Today there will be butterfly cakes with clotted cream and homemade lemon curd at the café. Lots of sewing and knitting chat going on, see you later 🙂
So anyone who knows me knows that I have a little shoe collection, justifying a new pair of shoes is tough.
These just had to come home with me, so in order to justify them I am going to see how many different outfits I can wear them with.
This week we had this, hand-made dress and hand-knitted cashmere cardi
mood dress and shoes
and this, hand-made skirt and vintage pringle cardi
Now I have to see what else I can come up with for them 🙂
There has been some new bags sewn this week, Alfie thinks he makes a good model, what do you think.
alfie photo bomb
Bag available in the shop
, not with a free puppy though 😉
No café today as the room is double booked, I will be sewing and rearranging the shop instead. Will be back to normal next week. 🙂
I bought the yarn for this shawl in NY on one of the rainiest days, I have not been so wet since camping in Arran one summer! Knitty City is a lovely shop to visit if you are shopping in NY. Only 1 row to knit and I have ran out of beads, I was sure I had 3 boxes but no, so hopefully Jillybeads will live up to their usual high standard of service and they will arrive in the post today.
Alfie is growing like a weed and is still all lanky legs, hopefully he will fill out soon 😉
He does think he is the new hearth ornament!
Today is perfect knitting and sewing weather, so I will be in the café from 12.30, see you later 🙂
So the wedding is over, what am I going to do now?
Back to knitting for a start, yesterday I cast on a shawl in some lovely Handmaiden seasilk I brought back from New York, its a beautiful pale pink and will have lots of beads on it eventually.
The two dresses I was sewing for the wedding were done in time, here they are.
Today in the café I will be knitting quietly and eating some home-made shortbread, hope to see you there 🙂
We have a new addition to the Campbell house and this morning I am off to take Alfie to the vet for his second set of vaccinations.
The café will be on as usual at 12.30 and there are some peanut butter and chocolate brownies to have with a cuppa, see you then.
